Indulge in the rich and velvety goodness of homemade chocolate truffles. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create these luxurious treats that are perfect for any occasion or as a delightful self-indulgence.
Ingredients
- 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped
- 100ml heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Optional: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or melted chocolate for coating
Instructions
Begin by preparing a heatproof bowl and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, gently warm the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove it from the heat and immediately pour it over the chopped dark chocolate in the bowl. Let it sit for a minute to allow the chocolate to melt.
Stir the mixture until smooth and fully combined. Add the unsalted butter and mix until it is incorporated and the truffle mixture has a glossy finish.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for about 1 to 2 hours, or until it is firm enough to handle.
Once the mixture is set, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) from the chocolate mixture.
Roll each ball in your hands to smooth it out, then coat them in cocoa powder, or your choice of coating such as chopped nuts or shredded coconut.
Place the coated truffles on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for another 30 minutes to firm up.
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy your decadent chocolate truffles as a sweet treat or share them with friends and family!
