Let’s dive into this culinary adventure!

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Tart Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

For the Chocolate Filling:

  • 1 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
  • ¾ cup coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

For the Avocado Mousse:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven warms up, let’s tackle the tart crust.

In a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Mix until the ingredients form a crumbly dough. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan. Use a fork to poke holes in the bottom to prevent bubbling during baking.

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until slightly firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely while you prepare the filling.

For the chocolate filling, in a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chopped dark chocolate and coconut milk. Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and eggs until fully incorporated.

Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled tart crust, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly soft in the center. Allow it to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill and firm up.

While the tart is chilling, prepare the avocado mousse. In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend until creamy and smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more maple syrup if desired.

Once the tart is fully chilled and set, remove it from the refrigerator. Spread the avocado mousse evenly over the top of the chocolate filling, creating a beautiful layer. You can use a spatula or the back of a spoon to create swirls for a decorative finish.

For an extra touch, garnish with fresh berries, shaved chocolate, or a sprinkle of sea salt. Slice into wedges and serve chilled or at room temperature. Your guests will be amazed at this innovative dessert that combines the richness of chocolate with the creamy goodness of avocado!

Enjoy your culinary creation, and remember—innovation in the kitchen is just a recipe away!
